Emme Aronson or just Emme as she is commonly known, was born Melissa Miller in New York City.
However, she was raised in Saudi Arabia, returning to the United States as a teenager to attend Kent School.
Her stepfather considered her to be overweight and she recalls one instance where he encircled her thighs with magic marker and drew on her stomach to demonstrate her how and where she needed to lose weight.
She wrote four books, but the first one left the biggest mark and is still sold with great success.
The book is called True Beauty—Positive Attitudes & Practical Tips from the World’s Leading Plus Size Model, and it was published in 1997.
In May 2007, Emme was diagnosed with Stage 2a Hodgkin’s lymphoma, but she emerged victorious from the struggle with the illness six months later and declared that she is “cancer-free”.
