15. Crystal Renn
Crystal Renn has proved singlehandedly that size really doesn’t matter (in some ways).
This former anorexic grew into a beautiful plus-sized model and now settles somewhere in between.
She now wants to design a fashion range which embraces all body shapes and sizes.
She struggled with weight almost all her life.
Renn started her modeling career in high fashion at the age of 14 after being spotted by a professional scout in her hometown in Clinton, Mississippi.
For years she suffered from Anorexia nervosa, succumbing to pressures in the modern modeling world.
Anorexia nervosa is an eating disorder characterized by immoderate food restriction, inappropriate eating habits or rituals, obsession with having a thin figure, and an irrational fear of weight gain.
After she managed to recover from it, she gained 70 pounds (32 kg) and re-emerged as a U.S. size 12.
