16. David Furnish
We are guessing that you are not familiar with this name, but if added the name of his husband you would immediately recognize it.
Sir Elton John and his immense wealth are something to be shared, because sharing is caring. David is supposedly a filmmaker, although the only movie he has managed to conjure up was a documentary about John…
David Furnish was born in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada to Jack Furnish, former director of Bristol-Myers and Gladys Furnish, homemaker.
He’s a filmmaker, former advertising executive, and now a film director and producer best known for his documentary, yes you guessed it: Elton John: Tantrums & Tiaras.
John began his relationship with David in 1993, when he was just a former advertising executive.
He describes him as his soul-mate: “We were both very much the same. We were both very impulsive. We both loved life. We both loved shopping. We both had a love of clothes, obviously, because he was the designer that I kind of wore forever and ever.”
John proposed to David in May 2005 at a dinner party with friends and family at one of their homes in Old Windsor and the couple entered civil partnership on 21 December 2005, which was incidentally the first day that civil partnerships could be performed in England.
