Kimora Lee Simmons was born in St. Louis, Missouri on May 4, 1975 and she is best known as the CEO/Creative Director and the creator of Baby Phat, an urban fashion line of clothing and other items for women and girls.
Growing up in the northern St. Louis suburb of Florissant, Missouri she was often bullied by other kids because (she was 5 feet 10 inches (1.78 m) tall by the time she was 10 years old.

She met Russell Simmons in November 1992 during New York City’s Fashion Week. Russell Wendell Simmons is the founder of the hip hop music label Def Jam and creator of the clothing fashion lines Phat Farm, Argyleculture, and American Classic, often considered one of the wealthiest people in the hip hop industry.
His estimated net worht in 2011 was $340 million and at the time he met Kimora he was 35 years old.
She was only 17 years old and about to finish high school. The couple were married by Simmons’s brother, rapper and Pentecostal minister, Joey Simmons of Run-DMC, on the Caribbean island of St. Bart’s on December 20, 1998. Their divorce was finalized in January 2009.
According to her now ex husband Simmons, she’s now married to Goldman Sachs banker Tim Leissner.
