19. Linda and Leslie Hamilton
Linda Hamilton is best known for playing the unforgettable Sarah Connor in the Terminator movies; her transformation from a delicate flower in the first to a woman of steel in the second was nothing short of miraculous. What you may not know is that she has a twin sister Leslie.
Linda Carroll Hamilton was born on September 26, 1956 in Salisbury, Maryland, USA. After graduating from Wicomico High School, she studied at Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland, before moving on to studying acting in New York. There she attended acting workshops given by Lee Strasberg. Her first roles are not really worth mentioning and her break came with her role as Sarah Conner in The Terminator (1984). Her fame widened from her role on the television series Beauty and the Beast (1987), until her appearance in the sequel Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) brought her even greater fame. Other films include Mr. Destiny (1990), Silent Fall (1994) and Dante’s Peak(1997).
In 2006, she reprised her character, Sarah Connor, for the theme-park attraction T2 3-D: Battle Across Time. This was a short film shot in 3-D, which was groundbreaking at the time.
Leslie is a nurse and she appeared in Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), in the apocalyptic playground scene, as a double for her sister, Linda. We bet you didn’t know this. She also appeared in a mirror reflection in the scene where Sarah removes the CPU from the Terminator and in the scene where the T1000 imitates Sarah. In this situation, no special effects were used.
When asked about her twin and psychic moments, Linda reports, “Several times. One night when we were children, we both woke up at the same time and she said that the toy chest is on fire, and I saw it burning. Obviously, it wasn’t in reality but we both saw it, it was a shared hallucination. We sent our father the same Father’s Day card last year. She lives in Jersey, I live in Malibu, yet out of every card in the world we bought the same one.”
