17. Hermione and Harry Should Have Been Together

In a recent interview, author of the Harry Potter books J.K. Rowling almost apologized for making Hermione fall for Ron instead of Harry. “I did it for personal reasons” she stated and went on to explain that this has more to do with her inner vision of the book than the way it should be. Shame, they would make such a cute couple.

Harry Potter fans know that J. K. Rowling planned for Hermione Granger to fall in love with Ron Weasley, and it happened accordingly, followed by their marriage at the end of the book series.

But now the author has changed her mind, saying that Harry ought to have ended up with Hermione instead. She explains it in one interview, “That’s how it was conceived, really. For reasons that have very little to do with literature and far more to do with me clinging to the plot as I first imagined it, Hermione ended up with Ron.”

Rowling even went as far to say that the couple might have ended up in counseling by now.

“I know, I’m sorry, I can hear the rage and fury it might cause some fans, but if I’m absolutely honest, distance has given me perspective on that,” she said.

“It was a choice I made for very personal reasons, not for reasons of credibility. Am I breaking people’s hearts by saying this? I hope not.”

Watson said, “I think there are fans out there who know that too and who wonder whether Ron would have really been able to make her happy.”

Maybe Emma Watson made up for J. K. Rowling’s possible mistake. Emma Watson was rumored to be with Daniel Radcliffe in the period from 2008 to 2009. Her Harry Potter co-star Daniel Radcliffe was seen with Emma Watson out and about hanging out and going out together frequently in 2008 and some of 2009.

Of course, everyone thought they were dating, but no confirmation ever came from either camp. We can only make assumptions that the couple whom many people wanted to see together onscreen actually dated. But, we may never know.
