11. She’s A Talented Painter Also
One of the subjects that she studied at university was painting, but no one thought that this young actress could possibly make such beautiful and mesmerizing paintings. Her latest painting, a self-portrait received much praise from art critics. We are hoping that she can manage her acting/modeling and painting career in such a manner that none of them gets left out.
She is a very successful and aspiring artist, as she once said art was her passion. She loves painting people’s expressions and faces, and has always loved art, as she revealed in one interview.
The papers published Emma’s self-portrait, which the actress apparently painted with her own hands. In the portrait, she carries a camera. This proves she’s into photography as well.
In a 2011 interview, writer Amanda Foreman talks about Watson’s exceptional talent and her skills with a brush, “As Emma takes me on a tour of her house, the extraordinary depth and breadth to her talents become obvious. Every room is framed around a beautiful artifact—a piece of furniture or fabric picked up at a flea market in Paris or Los Angeles—and her artworks show that she can both paint and draw exquisitely.
One picture stands out: It is a self-portrait of Emma holding a camera. The lens is aimed menacingly at the viewer, like the barrel of a gun, a neat illustration of what we had just experienced at the Tate.”
Watson explains her interest in painting, “I paint and I draw and I write and I do other things too, and recently some people at school were asking if I’d ever publish any of my [written] work. But I almost feel like I would have to publish it under another name because there’s a definition of me out there that feels kind of stuck in the moment when it was formed.”
