14. 50 Cent: All Things Fall Apart
Dear Lord, could you recognize him in this movie!?
The actor and rapper well known for his muscles and mean attitude, Curtis Jackson, shocked his fans and the rest of the movie goers with his amazing body transformation. Although it showed tremendous dedication and determination, the movie was a bust. Shame.
The rap star had to get down to only 160 pounds playing the cancer patient Deon. The diet and strenuous exercise included a nine-week diet on liquid food, and three hours of treadmill every day.
We feel sorry for the star, since not only that he lost his signature muscular appeal, he also looked like he was struck by some illness, God forbid. That may be a good thing, since he managed to make the character a more realistic touch. He gained back 40 pounds after the filming was over.
He claims his inspiration for the weight loss was De Niro in his awarded Taxi Driver, who also lost significant weight in The Raging Bull.
The 39-year-old rap star, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, reached for the stars with his 2003 best-selling album Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ but he was introduced to celluloid soon after the album was out and managed to accumulate 23 credits in his acting carrier.
In this movie, he plays a football player stricken with cancer, almost on his death bed. If you look at his photo from the shoot, you’d be seriously concerned for his health.
The NY rap star has also been included in the screenplay credits for the movie, as he co-wrote it with Lyn Whitfield. He’s currently filming the movie Spy, whereas The Prince is in post production. Mario Van Peebles directed the movies such as Panther (1995), and How to Get the Man’s Foot Outta Your Ass (2003).
