Talk about black and white….
Bridget Jones went for that sexy rocker, alternative look and dated Jack White of White Stripes for a good two years. The couple seems mismatched but if you think about it, it perfectly fits the plot of the imaginary Bridget Jones movie.
The couple met during the shooting of Cold Mountain, for which Rennee Zellweger won an Oscar. They broke up back in 2004. Well, in the movies she always struggles to find true love, so why would life be much different?
The turbulent relationship with the rock star ended after almost two years.
Zellweger said they will remain good friends, and that there’s been no scandal and no new relationships. The reason for the split is said to be in distance between the pair. White had the idea that Zellweger should move from Texas closer to his home in Detroit.
She bought a house in the Hamptons and one in Connecticut. The odd couple met in Romania, during the filming of Cold Mountain, a civil war epic, for which the actress won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar.
Jack White had a small part in the movie and was in charge of composing the music for it. They played husband and wife in the movie, but they were unlucky when it came to taking this odd relationship in front of the altar.
They kept the relationship quiet, but they made a public appearance together at the Oscars. The ladies’ man didn’t wait too long to find a replacement for Zellweger. Apparently, he got married to British model Karen Elson in Brazil.
The drummer/vocalist and his ex, Meg White, was the serving maid of honor, while Ian Montone was the best man. White has had some strange marital occurrences. He doesn’t speak much on his relationship with Meg White. At one point he claimed they were a brother and a sister, but court records later showed they were married from 1996-2000.
