12. Woody Allen and Soon-Yi Previn
We are certain that you know all about this, but still, this couple just had to be on our list for obvious reasons. They have been married now for over 15 years, yes, you read it right, fifteen years and there are no signs that there’s any trouble in the marriage.
Woody’s movies are at a surprisingly great level, so you might say that she is his muse. Still, marrying your girlfriend’s kid is something we wouldn’t recommend. The thing is, we need to retell the original scandalous tale.
It’s been twenty years since the scandal shocked America and the rest of the world. It all started in 1980 when renowned movie director Woody Allen began his odd relationship with famous actress Mia Farrow.
The couple made up their mind to adopt two children and have a kid of their own. Soon-Yi Farrow Previn was the already adopted daughter of Farrow and André Previn. It was in 1992, that Hollywood got shocked by what was one of its biggest scandals ever.
Farrow found nude pictures of her step-daughter in Allen’s belongings, after which she found out that Allen, who was 56, and Soon-Yi Previn, who was 21 at the time, had been having a sexual relationship.
Farrow suspected Allen has had sexual relations with their adopted daughter Dylan, who was seven at the time, but the charges were dropped off, due to lack of any evidence. Recently, his non-biological daughter accused him in an open letter of what a lot of people expected Allen of. Yikes.
He did lose custody over the children he adopted with Farrow, but he adopted a pair with Soon-Yi, Bechet and Mazine, named after Allen’s favorite jazz players. The couple married in Venice in 1997.
Allen’s biological son, Ronan Farrow, now 26, shared his thoughts about this odd relationship, “He’s my father married to my sister. That makes me his son and his brother-in-law. That is such a moral transgression.”
