4. Raven Symone
Former Cosby Show and It’s So Raven star Raven Symone gave a shout out to the US government about marriage equality in August via Twitter.
In the tweet, Symone expressed her happiness about finally being able to get married to the person she loved.
She stated, “I am very happy that gay marriage is opening up around the country and is being accepted,” the actress said in a statement through her representatives.
“I was excited to hear today that more states legalized gay marriage. I, however am not currently getting married, but it is great to know I can now, should I wish to,” she said.
Symone also posted a tweet, “I can finally get married! Yay government! So proud of you.”
In response to media inquiries after that tweet, her representatives said that “Raven is not getting married. She was just supporting the fact that she heard on NPR that more states legalized gay marriage today.”
In the past, she stuck to the fact that her sexual orientation was a private matter.
“My sexual orientation is mine, and the person I’m datings to know. I’m not one for a public display of my life,” she wrote on her Twitter profile in May 2012.
We’re still not sure whether she’s gay or not, actually.
This is one of her clarifications, though, “However that is my right as a HUMAN Being whether straight or gay,” she clarified: “To tell or not to tell. As long as I’m not harming anyone. I am a light being made from love. And my career is the only thing I would like to put on display, not my personal life. Kisses!”
After The Cosby Show, Symone had a role with Eddie Murphy in his ‘Dr. Dolittle’ films and starred in Disney Channel’s ‘That’s So Raven.’
