The moment he gained national attention, Scott Mills decided to come out as he wanted to be the one who would reveal his sexual preference to the world. He didn’t want the press to find out he was homosexual and drag his name through the dirt so he agreed to talk to several prominent newspapers and magazines and keep nothing hidden, especially not the fact that he was gay.
He has discussed his sexuality on several occasions, hoping the public would perceive him ‘’as a normal bloke who is gay and is on the radio and the television.’’ Despite his best efforts, some people just can’t accept that many people are gay, and Mills has often had to defend himself in a joking manner, saying he ‘’doesn’t have much luck with the ladies.’’
