7. Jeremy Sheffield
Before succeeding as an actor, Jeremy Sheffield was a ballet dancer with the Royal Ballet at Covent Garden and even appeared as a dancer in Queen’s music video. Though this had been a dream come true, Sheffield actually made his breakthrough dancing role as the male lead in Natalie Imbruglia’s video for Torn.
After breaking a toe and tearing a ligament, Jeremy ended his ballet career and decided to try his luck elsewhere. Immensely talented, he had no problem whatsoever making it big in the acting world, despite the fact that he had to struggle with homophobia at every step of the way. Here’s what he said:
“The really depressing thing that happens in LA is that the most homophobic people, the ones most frightened of casting openly gay actors, are actually gay themselves.’’
