George Michael is not only one of the most famous gay persons in the world, but also one of the most successful and best-selling musicians of all time. Unfortunately, he became a superstar during the time when gay people were not as accepted as they are today and constantly tried to develop a relationship with a woman. To make thing worse, the world found out that he was gay after he had been arrested for engaging in a lewd act in a public restroom.
Ever since the incident, George Michael has been very vocal about his sexuality and relationships with men, though he said that his life hadn’t become easier when he came out. To quote him:
‘’The press seemed to take some delight that I previously had a ‘straight audience,’ and set about trying to destroy that. And I think some men were frustrated that their girlfriends wouldn’t let go of the idea that George Michael just hadn’t found the ‘right girl’ [yet].’’
