British heartthrob Jaymi Hensley has showed the world that you can be gay and still succeed in the competitive world of pop music. As a matter of fact, The Union J boy band star openly talked about his sexuality before making it big in showbiz and didn’t have a problem with coming out on The X Factor.
Unlike his band mates, who have always been secretive about their private lives, Hensley has never wanted to keep his sexual preference a secret – and why should he? Since he shared his personal struggles with the world, the pop musician has become something of a role model to teenagers who are having trouble with embracing their sexuality. Here’ what he said about his own experience:
“I was really fat when I was a kid – massively huge. It was a big thing for me because I was dealing with my sexuality as well as with weight issues. It] made me want to do something with my life, and I have achieved more than all those people who gave me stick.”
