Everyone knows that Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw is gay, but many people are not aware of the fact that he was not always so comfortable with his sexuality. As a matter of fact, he was certain that being gay was just a phase in his life and that he surely couldn’t be homosexual forever.
During his time at university, Grimshaw did everything in his power to become straight and he even had a girlfriend. Here’s what he told The Sunday Times Style magazine about having sex with a woman:
“It was fine. It wasn’t horrible. Some of my gay friends can’t touch a bra, but I was never like that, I wasn’t repulsed. But it didn’t feel natural. It felt there was an effort, like, ‘Oh, maybe I’ll touch her hair now.’ It felt like acting.”
