The first winner of the Idol music contest, Will Young is one of the best and most successful singers in Great Britain who has released four UK number-one albums and made some serious money. However, it seems that fame has not had its toll on the talented musician as he has always been quite modest about his achievements. For instance, he once said that he was really disappointed because Gareth Gates (the other Pop Idol finalist) had not won.
After becoming an overnight sensation, Young publicly came out as gay, saying that he was perfectly comfortable in his own shoes. However, he didn’t always feel that way. He told Attitude Magazine that he had been terrified of being gay when he was younger, and therefore refused to accept his sexuality until he was 26.
