It’s hard to say whether anyone will ever be able to fill Jon Stewart’s shoes, but if someone can do it, it’s Trevor Noah. Noah is about to take over The Daily Showafter Stewart’s departure, and judging from fans and critics’ opinions, he is going to do a great job.
Noah was born in Johannesburg to a black South African (Xhosi) mother and a white father of Swiss origin. When he was born, his parents’ relationship was illegal because of the Apartheid. His father later went back to Switzerland and Noah lived with his mother and grandmother. His mother remarried two times. In 2009, when she got engaged to her second husband, her ex-husband shot her in the back and in the face and was going to shoot Trevor too but his gun jammed.
Noah pursued a career in comedy back in South Africa and he was quite successful at it. He moved to the States in 2011 and in 2013 he appeared on The Daily Show for the first time, which marked the beginning of his international fame.
