9. T.E. Lawrence
In case the name T.E. Lawrence does not ring a bell, it is probably because you know the guy as Lawrence of Arabia, the man who was the inspiration for what is one of the greatest movies of all time. He was a real person and his life was every bit as interesting and insane as the movie.
Lawrence arguably had one of the most exciting and perilous life stories in the 20th century and the weirdest thing is that he managed to survive it all in one piece (at least physically).
In the end, he lost his life on a sleepy road in England when he swerved on his Brough Superior in order to avoid two boys on bikes. He lost control, flew over the handlebars and suffered fatal head wounds.
