14. Keith “Adrian Adonis” Franke
Adrian Adonis is the second wrestler on our list who was actually involved in a years-long feud with Junkyard Dog who also made the list. He did not start off his career as Adrian Adonis and he adopted the persona in the mid-80s.
It must have taken a lot of guts to adopt such a persona in Reagan’s America, but he did it with such gusto and such force that you had to love him. And we did. We all did.
In 1988, his career was cut short when he was involved in an accident while riding in a van with a number of other wrestlers. Victor “Pat Kelly” Arko and Dave “Wildman” McKigney were also killed in the accident caused by a moose that wandered onto the road in Newfoundland.
