3. Madonna
She may be one of the most famous superstars today, with her incredible voice, shocking performances and intriguing personality (and her refusal to age, also), but Madonna wasn’t always under the spotlight. She attended the University of Michigan which offered her a full sholarship to their dance program.
She was exceptional with her dancing skills, was awarded a six-week scholarship to dance in New York and received the unique opportunity to perform with choreographer Pearl Lang in 1978. At the urging of her dance instructer she dropped out of colledge and moved to New York.
Once she arrived, she had to get by somehow, so she took a number of out-of-the-ordinary jobs including waiting tables, nude modelling and performing for the American Dance Theater. She even worked as a showgirl in Paris after meeting her then boyfriend Dan Gilroy. Quite the story, but what do you expect from somebody like Madonna?
