The tech wiz and co-founder of Apple, Inc – one of the most important and influential companies of our times – was born in San Francisco in 1955 and instantly given for adoption. His biological father was a Muslim from Syria, Abdulfattah Jandali, and his mother Carole Schieble, was of German descent. The parents of the couple did not approve of their relationship so when Carole got pregnant they decided to give the child for adoption.
Carole insisted the child had a wealthy, well-educated Catholic family, so when her son was given to a blue-collar couple with no college education, she sued and tried to take the child away from them. Finally she agreed he could stay with them as long as they promised to send him to college.
Jobs’ adoptive mother Clara was so afraid someone would take the child from them, she didn’t dare love him for the first two years of his life, according to her own words. Jobs, on the other hand, said he always felt loved and cherished by people who he called “my parents 1.000%”.
