Tim McGraw is a celebrated, award-winning country music star, best known for hit songs like “It’s Your Love,” “Just To See You Smile” and “Live Like You’re Dying.” He also appeared in supporting roles in a number of movies and TV shows, most notably The Blind Side, Four Christmases, Friday Night Lights and The Kingdom.
The fans of Tim McGraw probably know this, but the wider audience may not be aware of the fact that the singer is actually the son of the famous MLB player Tug McGraw. Tug met McGraw’s mother Betty D’Agostino while playing for Jacksonville Suns. The two had a relationship and when Betty got pregnant she moved to Louisiana. She later married to Horace Smith and for a long while Tim believed him to be his real father. When he was 11, he discovered his father was really Tug McGraw. Betty took him to meet his father who for many years refused to acknowledge paternity, until it was finally clear the resemblance was too uncanny for him not to be his son.
