7. Coen Brothers
The opening scene of Fargo is as Minnesotan as they get. The early morning winter white is slowly pierced by a tow truck and that incredible soundtrack swelling… Only a Minnesotan could make such a scene.
Or two Minnesotans. The guys behind Fargo and many other incredible movies such as The Big Lebowski, No Country for Old Men, Miller’s Crossing and O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Joel and Ethan Coen were born and raised in St. Louis Park, a Minneapolis suburb.
And while the Coen Brothers have been able to capture pretty much every period and part of our country over the course of their career, the warmth and the love they showed Minnesota in Fargo makes them Minnesotan more than anything else.
