14. Kevin McHale
Not many NBA players hail from Minnesota and we have to be honest enough to say that the vast majority of them never achieved stardom. That being said, one Minnesotan son did – Kevin McHale. And not only was he a star, but one of the best power forwards ever to play the game.
Together with the legends that are Larry Bird and Robert Parish, he formed one of the most intimidating and exquisite frontcourt trios in NBA history, leading the Boston Celtics to a few titles along the way. His playing career was unfortunately cut short by knee injuries.
Kevin was born in Hibbing, Minnesota and he attended the University of Minnesota where he had a great college career. He currently coaches the Houston Rockets.
