11. Winona Ryder
Back in the good old 1990s, Winona Ryder seemed to be in everything, from Little Women to Alien: Resurrection, from Mermaids to Girl, Interrupted. She also did her fair of gothic movies with Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands and Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
Everyone loved Wynona back in the 1990s, including Johnny Depp with whom she had a wild and widely-publicized relationship. She then got arrested for shoplifting and we discovered she had been struggling with various mood disorders. It was not until the 2010s that Winona made her comeback with Star Trek, When Love is Not Enough and Black Swan.
Winona was not only born in Minnesota – Olmsted County to be more precise – but she also got her name from a Minnesota town of Winona. How’s that for being a Minnesotan?
