10. Eddie Cochran
Back in the day, Eddie Cochran was the man. If you thought Justin Bieber is a star, you should have seen the kind of popularity Eddie enjoyed in the 1950s. He made parents angry with his 50s rocker looks and his rebellious attitude. Of course, the teens worshipped him.
And Eddie was not just for show. The guy experimented with overdubbing and multitrack recording years before other artists started dabbling in these techniques. He also had timeless hits with Summertime Blues and C’mon Everybody. He died in a car crash when he was only 21, cementing his iconic stature.
And while Eddie always claimed he was from Oklahoma and considered himself an Oklahoman, we know better. We know that he was born in Albert Lea, Minnesota and we could not leave him out of our list.
