14. Jerry Mathers
Jerry was born Gerald Patrick Mathers on June 2, 1948, in Sioux City, Iowa, to parents Norm and Marilyn Mathers. His father was a high school principal and later a school district executive in Los Angeles. Mathers was introduced to the TV world as early as 2 when he appeared in a number of commercials. After that, he made his breakthrough starring in the situation comedy television series Leave it to Beaver. Apparently, he was given the role because of his candid “kid” attitude – he told the producers he would rather be at his cub scout meeting than auditioning for the part.
After the series ended, Mathers went on to high school and college and later even served in the Air National Guard. As an adult, he was in charge of a catering company, invested in real estate, and currently serves as a spokesperson for various causes and products.
