11. Fred Grandy
Fred’s one of those people who’ve done a lot of things in their life, or in other words, who’ve lived their life to the fullest. Born in Sioux City, Iowa, on June 29, 1948, he’s a true representative of the country and someone born in Iowa can truly look up to him for inspiration.
He attended boarding school at Phillips Exeter Academy, where he met and became friends with Dwight D. Eisenhower’s grandson, David Eisenhower. In 1966, Grandy graduated and went on to pursue his undergraduate degree at Harvard. He then gave up on the idea of going to law school to pursue a career in acting.
After landing a couple of roles, including two somewhat successful ones, in Maude and The Love Boat, he decided it was time to break free of Hollywood and pursue a different career. How exactly he decided to become a politician, nobody knows, but he went on to serve four congressional terms, with his final term concluding in January 1995.
