You can add one more thing to Oprah Winfrey’s impressive resume: one of the greatest philanthropists of our time is also one of the biggest animal lovers out there. She has had more than 20 pooches during her adult life and admits that one of the reasons why she’s so crazy about dogs is because she was not allowed to have any when she was a child.
Whatever the case, Oprah really loves her dogs and her dogs really love her. Nothing makes her happier than spending time with her furry friends, and though all her pups have a special place in her heart, there was this one dog who completely changed her life.
Her cocker spaniel Sophie, who used to go to work with Oprah every day for 13 years and rarely left her side, unfortunately died in 2008, but Oprah will never ever forget her. Oprah considers her one of her greatest teachers in life and says that no one has ever loved her like that little dog.
