Ellen DeGeneres and Anne Heche pioneered the concept of the lesbian power couple. Their romance was inspiring and touching, but when it ended, it got pretty bad. At least from the Heche side.
Heche had a tough time dealing with the breakup and had what can only be described as a psychotic episode. A day after she and DeGeneres broke up, she drove to Fresno in a shorts and a bra, entered a stranger’s house, took a shower, put on some Mickey Mouse slippers and tried to persuade the terrified children in the house to come onboard her starship that would take all of them to heaven.
When the police arrived, Heche proclaimed to be a divinity by the name of Celestia. Her reps later explained the incident was the result of exhaustion and dehydration, but the tabloids found out she was also high on ecstasy. Heche later recovered from the incident and even wrote a book with the wry title “Call Me Crazy,” (which we did, Anne, we did).
