Meltdowns are embarrassing, awkward, often sad or even tragic to watch. But sometimes, just sometimes, they’re a little funny too. David Hasselhoff’s cheeseburger incident was hilarious even though it was actually pretty depressing.
Ever since rising to notoriety thanks to the Baywatch, Hasselhoff was perceived as a nice, likable, although slightly silly person who likes to do cheesy stuff and can’t really act. His attempts at a music career were a laughing stock of everyone except the Germans, but his life was pretty much normal.
Until he started drinking like a mad man and had a series of highly publicized ultra-drunk incidents, like the episode mentioned above, when he was filmed laying on the bathroom floor absolutely smashed, trying (unsuccessfully) to eat a cheeseburger. Oh, and he also peed himself on an airplane. A real classy dude and easily one of the worst drunks in the show biz.
