George Michael is a strange man. He basically walked out of what might have been a tremendously successful career and decided to spend the rest of his life collecting royalties and using them to cruise for hot guys and buy drugs. He has had several clashes with the law, mostly related to drugs and to driving, and they spanned over a period of several years, so it’s difficult to pin-point one particular moment his meltdown was at its peak.
Michael has been arrested on several occasions for drunk driving. He caused or was involved in several car accidents, which motivated his closest friends, including Elton John, to express their concern about Michael’s wellbeing. He was also arrested for lewd behavior following the infamous public toilet incident. His troubles culminated when he crashed his car in a photo store in Hampstead, in the middle of the night, after attending the London Gay Pride the day before.
