Nicolas Cage has apparently earned over $150 million during his glittering movie career, spending his bottomless pit of cash on mansions, castles, yachts, jets and cars. It seems like he spent his money on everything except taxes. Most of his prized possessions had to be sold to pay off his $14 million in back taxes.
Cage made crazy money between 1996 and 2011 and he was one of the top-paid actors in Hollywood for years. So how in the world did he manage to squander all that dough? Let’s see: he purchased two castles – one in England and one in Bavaria, homes in Bel Air, Malibu, Rhode Island, Las Vegas and in the Bahamas, as well as two mansions in New Orleans. He invested a lot of money into remodeling the castles too, and sources say he never actually spent the night in either of them. He also bought a private island, a private jet, several yachts and god knows how many Ferraris and Lamborghinis.
