15. Dustin Hoffman
Dustin Hoffman may be the star of many huge movies but is still only 5’6” tall. Yes, really. And also has a reputation of being very hard to work with.
We can’t tell for sure why, but maybe 167cm are self-explanatory.
In 1989 hit movie ‘Family Business’, Sean Connery, only seven years older than Dustin, played his father.
On April 27, 2010, he helped to save the life of Sam Dempster, a 27-year old lawyer, who suffered a cardiac arrest while jogging in Hyde Park in London, England. Dustin was taking a walk near his London house and saw a man fall. He then called ambulance and waited by his side for them to resuscitate him.
He’s a known pacifist and this is his opinion on wars:
“If a lot of dogs are on the beach, the first thing they do is smell each other’s ass. The information that’s gotten somehow makes pacifists out of all of them. I’ve thought, ‘If only we smelled each other’s asses, there wouldn’t be any war.'”
Now we see him as a bigger person. About his life and acting, he stated, “I wanted to be a jazz pianist, but I wasn’t good enough. I got into city college because I didn’t have the grades to get into university. I took acting because it was a way to get three credits. I just needed three credits and my friend told me to take acting because it was like gym – nobody fails you. I took it and that’s literally how I got involved in acting.”
