Lance Armstrong is a former professional road racing cyclist, who was stripped of his seven consecutive Tour de France titles after a doping scandal. He is also famous for being an atheist.
Armstrong was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 25, and before he was to undergo brain surgery to remove the tumor, he pondered on religion, and concluded there was no God. His views on this topic are similar to those of many people around the globe – if there is a God, he should judge us based on our actions, rather than on whether we believe in a certain book and know when to say the right words from it.
During the most difficult time of his life, Armstrong chose to believe in medicine rather than in the magic man, and it is a good thing that he did, too.
