We all know Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain was an amazingly talented, yet troubled singer who put an end to his own life at the young age of 27. However, his world was definitely a dark one, and Cobain was simply unable to cope with mental illness, drug addiction, and fame.
The grunge legend was diagnosed with attention deficit disorder, bipolar disorder, and major depression – conditions that all led to his untimely death. It’s interesting to note that Kay Redfield Jamison, Professor of Psychiatry at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, examined Kurt’s brain in 2004 and came to the conclusion that bipolar disorder definitely contributed to his suicide.
Even though the singer was aware of his mental problems, Cobain refused to take medication for them, and illness finally took its toll on April 5, 1994.
