9. Robert Plant
The rock star was so crushed by the death of his young son that he was very much considering quitting singing for good. According to Plant, he was so devastated that he was actually considering leaving Led Zeppelin and becoming a teacher full time.
Plant’s young son Karac Pendragon was only five years old when he died of a lung infection. Plant said that he had applied to become a teacher and that he was completely serious about leaving the rock star life behind for good.
He said that it was Le Zeppelin’s drummer John Bonham who was responsible for convincing him to stay with the band. Of course, Bonham would also tragically die soon, but his words had an impact on the singer, who chose to stay with the legendary band at the time, despite the pain of his son’s death.
