19. Tameka Foster
Most people know Tameka as the ex-wife of singing sensation Usher. They were actually in the middle of a very serious and nasty custody battle when their son was killed. The news of the death shocked both of them and really made them put everything into perspective.
Their son was 11 years old when he died. He was riding an inner tube on lake Lanier in Georgia when all of a sudden, someone riding a jet ski hit him and ran him over. Foster’s son Kile was taken to the hospital and put on life support, but after two weeks he was taken off of it and declared brain dead.
Foster, who is also a singer continued the custody battle after the funeral. She eventually was given custody of her two sons, but that did not come until a month after having to bury one and going through an incredibly tragic situation.
