Carol Burnett is a hilarious comedian, but this situation is definitely nothing to laugh about. She lost her oldest daughter at the age of 28. Her daughter also got into the entertainment industry and was doing well for herself following in her mother’s footsteps.
Unfortunately, she ended up dying young of brain and lung cancer in 2002. Even though Burnett has worked and made people laugh after that event, she said that it is something that she will never be able to completely get over. However, she said that eventually you learn to cope and you realize that it was better to have her daughter with her for that shorter amount of time than to have never have had any time with her at all.
That is one lesson to learn from all of this – it’s important to cherish the time you have with the people you love, because you never know when it’s going to end.
