4. Renly Baratheon
A pretender to the Iron Throne, Renly Baratheon is portrayed by the 30-year-old English actor Gethin Anthony. Besides ‘’Game of Thrones,’’ Gethin has appeared in ‘’Ten Days to War’’ and ‘’Doctors.’’
He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford with a degree in English literature. At Oxford, he was the president of the University Drama Society. After that, Gethin enrolled at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. He received a Scholarship to the British American Drama Academy in London, England from July to August 2004.
Apart from acting, the ill-fated contender to the throne is also trained in African dance and has a tenor singing voice. Unfortunately, we won’t be seeing him anymore on ‘’Game of Thrones.’’ He appeared in the show only in the first two seasons.
That’s the thing, another reason to have so many characters, is you can just kill them off! It’s great, isn’t it? That’s what will be exciting for the television audience – you feel, even more so than in the books, like you’re going to follow a central character, and that doesn’t happen as much as you think it might.
