20. Jaime Lannister
Here’s a bit of trivia that you probably didn’t know: Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays Jaime Lannister, is not American or British. He is actually from Denmark and even though the world is only really familiar with him from his Game of Thrones rule, he is a superstar in Scandinavia.
He is a classically trained actor and was educated at the Danish National School of Theater before landing his first role back in 1994. However, it would be a few years before he made it to America. The first Hollywood film that he starred in was “Black Hawk Down,” which is no little thing.
According to Coster-Waldau, in order to get the small role in the iconic Ridley Scott movie, he put together a taped audition in an attic above his apartment in Copenhagen and sent it overseas. Director Richard Loncraine to a liking to him after that, it seems, since he got roles in two of his movies later on, “Wimbeldon” in 2004 and “Firewall” in 2006.
