Stephen Dillane might not be a very popular actor, but he is what the industry refers to as “an actor’s actor.” You know when they say that a rapper that is great at his craft but doesn’t necessarily sell a lot of records is “a rapper’s rapper,” well this is pretty much the same thing.
While Dillane hasn’t really been in any big blockbusters, most actors known him and consider him to be a great actor in his own right. He is one of those classically trained actors that can do it all. Naturally, he has done a lot of Shakespeare. He started in “Hamlet” in 1994 and was also the main and only character in a one-man adaptation of “Macbeth” in 2005.
Outside of his Game of Thrones role, most people probably saw him in the television movie about founding father Thomas Jefferson, in which he played John Adams.
