13. Oberyn Martell
One of the major and most loved characters in the fourth season of ‘’Game of Thrones,’’ Oberyn Martell was played by the Chilean-American actor Pedro Pascal.
The Red Viper was raised in Texas and California, after his parents escaped the Chilean military dictatorship that ruled Chile between 1973 and 1990. ‘’I have really fond memories of Texas. By the time I was eight, we started to go back to Chile very regularly, and many family members came to visit us because we couldn’t go visit them.’’
Pascal attended Orange County School of the Arts and then New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. He currently lives in New York City.
‘’The acting training in school was great, but it was mostly fun being young and in New York. Because my upbringing was so transient, New York ended up being my home. I’ve been living in New York longer than I have anywhere else in my life.’’
Pedro has appeared in several TV series, including ‘’Buffy the Vampire Slayer’’, ‘’The Good Wife’’, ‘’Homeland’’, ‘’The Mentalist’’ and ‘’Graceland.’’
