This comedian also had to make some changes to his life because of the severe health problems that he was experiencing because of his weight problems. Since 2010, he has trimmed down significantly and lost over 80 pounds. According to Carey, thanks to his weight loss and his new diet and exercise program, he no longer has to take the medication that he used to need for his type 2 diabetes.
He said that it was a combination of a good diet and a lot of exercise that enabled him to slim down and that he did not take any shortcuts. In a recent interview, he said that he was eating food high in protein along with a lot of fruit and vegetables. Carey also said that he had a very serious exercise regime that included a very trying 45 minutes of cardio every day, six times a week.
