While some actors are quite reticent in their political views, others remain outspoken; Danny Aiello is an unabashed Republican and will tell it to you to your face. Actor James Woods said that he “loved” George W. Bush during an interview with Jay Leno some years back, stating that he was proud to have voted for him.
Hollywood producers are not immune to the reactions of disdain, either. Mike DeLuca of Sony Pictures Entertainment said that when he revealed his Republican leanings, the reaction in Tinseltown was downright frightening. Because of this, some right-wingers have banded together to form support groups such as the Wednesday Morning Club, run by Icon Pictures exec Steve McEveety and others.
The legendary actor “Sly” Stallone is another rarity in Hollywood who falls in the category of staunch, loud, proud, avid and quite active supporters of the Republican party. He has lent both public and financial support to Republicans in Hollywood as well as all around the nation. Far from a shrinking violet, he is not in the majority of Hollywood Republicans who prefer to fly under the radar when it comes to talking about and showing their political views in print and through his actions.
His IMDB bio reports that Stallone attended the inauguration of George W. Bush in 2001 and has also attended a number of other Republican events through the years. Interestingly, he also shares the same birth date as President George W. Bush. While Stallone himself says he is better known for his physicality than for anything overtly intellectual or cerebral, this hasn’t stopped him from having a strong point of view when it comes to politics.
He was also awarded a certificate from the Republican Actor and then-Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger back in 2005 for filming his “Rocky” films in Los Angeles, USA, rather than opting for a cheaper location in Canada or overseas. Stallone’s storied career continues on in Hollywood, as does his affiliation with Republican politics.
