There probably isn’t a person in the world who hasn’t heard of Chuck Norris thanks to his martial arts films, television shows as well as an abundance of jokes about how powerful and awesome he is.
However, he also actively participates in all kinds of social/religious/political events, as he’s a devout Christian and politically very conservative. Norris has even written several books on Christianity and donated tens of thousands of dollars to a number of both Republican candidates and causes. He even campaigned for Mike Huckabee during the presidential elections in 2008.
He strongly advocates the infamous Proposition 8 for religious as well as for political reasons, he is a strong supporter of public schools teaching creationism and sits on the board of directors of the National Council on Bible Curriculum in Public Schools, an organization fighting for that very cause.
