17. Mel Gibson
Who could forget that infamous 1995 interview when Mel Gibson called President Bill Clinton a “low-level opportunist” and someone who “tells him what to do?” Yeah, Gibson has never had a problem with openly expressing his conservative opinions about a lot of things, politics included. He’s a very socially conservative type of person – that includes no abortions, white people are in charge, women aren’t equal to men, all that jazz.
Other than that, he’s Catholic, but not standard Catholic, he takes it a bit further. Gibson belongs to a small branch of Catholicism called Traditionalist Catholicism, started by his father, Hutton Gibson, a rabid anti-Semite. He’s also an avid conspiracy theorist, who is certain that all politicians are puppets for an unknown man behind the curtains.
