8. Melanie Griffith

When she’s not all done up, Melanie Griffith looks just like any other middle-aged woman. While you might think her edgy, disheveled haircut is cute, you won’t recognize her for the Hollywood star she is.

She was nominated for an Academy Award and won a Golden Globe for her performance in the film Working Girl in 1998. She is the daughter of actress Tippi Hedren, and the wife of famous heartthrob actor Antonio Banderas.

Griffith supports the efforts of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles helping to lead Walk for Kids, a community 5k, to raise funds as part of the hospital’s community efforts in support of the opening of a new pediatric inpatient facility.

She also participated in the hospital’s 2012 Noche de Niños gala as a presenter of a Courage to Care Award.

After first rehabilitation in 1988, Griffith returned to rehab in 2000 for a painkiller addiction.

In August 2009, she returned to rehab again for what her team called “part of a routine plan.” She emerged after a three-month stay and underwent surgery for skin cancer in December 2009.

Actress started a relationship with Antonio Banderas in May 1995, during the making of Two Much. After their respective divorces were finalized, the couple married on May 14, 1996.

They have a daughter, Stella del Carmen Banderas, born in 1996. In 2002, the couple received the Stella Adler Angel Award for their charity work.

And she doesn’t like being referred to as sex symbol. She once said, “I hope not! I don’t want to be — I’ve done enough parts like that. I can’t say I won’t do more, but I really want to do a variety of roles.”
