The star of Mermaids when she was just a teenager, her dark hair and looks gained her a role in The Addams Family and Casper. She’s also starred alongside Johnny Depp in Sleepy Hollow and has plenty more work coming up.
Ricci was born in 1980 in Santa Monica, California, but became a talkative child actor in the 1990s. She got her first role at the age of nine in Mermaids, where she was opposite to Winona Ryder and Cher. Wow, she started off big time. In her more adult role in 1997, she plays a nymphet who seduces two brothers. Even though she never formally studied acting, she made it pretty well.
Her breakthrough adult role was in The Ice Storm (1997), in which she plays a nymphet who skillfully seduces two brothers.
Tim Burton obviously liked her appearance and called her to perform in his Sleepy Hollow in 1999. She acted along the legendary Johnny Depp and Casper Van Dien. But she didn’t meet Depp there for the first time, as she already appeared in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998).
Ricci was nominated for a Golden Globe for The Opposite of Sex in 1998. She had another 15 wins and 21 nominations.
After the successful late nineties, the star was expecting a brilliant carrier, but she did not make it to any significant blockbusters, let alone Oscar-nominated films. She mostly did TV series and voice-overs in animated films.
